Where leisure time activities are concerned, the options are next to endless. First and foremost, there is the nearby eighteen-hole championship Simola Golf Course which is ranked among the most beautiful and spectacular golf courses in all of South Africa. Apart from the challenges the course poses, the views of the surrounding mountains and the Knysna Lagoon are simply breath-taking!

Those that prefer two-wheeled transportation may also take the mountain bikes for a spin. In fact, the Knysna region is South Africa’s most popular location for mountain biking. The Estate offers a number of highly rewarding tracks.

However, you may also extent your range to the adjacent estates. Explore the Knysna Forest Mountains at your leisure, hike to the waterfalls and refresh yourself with a splash or take a kayak or boat out onto the Knysna Lagoon or River.

The Knysna River is a prime spot for fly-fishing, a technique that requires considerable skill and practice. Guided fishing trips with the pros will introduce and you are rewarded not only by the idyllic landscape but, in the best of cases, with a fresh dinner.

Visit the Tsitsikamma National Park famous for the dramatic Storms River mouth crossed by a hair-raising hanging bridge. Or explore the Robberg National Park in Plettenberg Bay and hike ancient forests with trees that date back more than a thousand years.

If you turn inland, an adventurous mountain pass will take you from Knysna along the famous panorama route 62 to South Africa's ostrich capital Oudtshoorn. Apart from the numerous birds bred for their leather, feathers and meat, the attractions include a vast dripstone cave system, the Cango Caves.

Those with an appetite for the tingling thrill of adrenaline have the one or other rush to look forward to on the Garden Route: Jump off Africa's highest bridge connected to life with a bungee rope. Try rafting, canyoning, abseiling, skydiving or paragliding - almost everything is possible.

Yacht cruises on the Knysna Lagoon is a wonderful opportunity to unwind in fine style and enjoy the magnificent scenery. No matter where your interests lie, the region offers you an activity to suit your liking.
